Dispatches from the Dustball

Dave Maass posts live from the Dustball 2000 Rally. July 27 - 29, 2011.

I got to thinking about sponsorships. The cars on the Dustball will be covered with decals representing the rally’s sponsors, like DSTP Motorsports and Zia Homes. Could I do something something similar with my laptops?
You bet I could.
I’m very proud to present this rough mock-up of a laptop with the logos of my three sponsors so far. Boxfire Press, an electronic publishing house run by my friends Justin and Scott, jumped in early. Yesterday, Convoy Auto Repair in Kearny Mesa made my day by becoming my first official automotive sponsor. Then, this morning, the San Diego music blog, Owl & Bear, took  me by surprise by also claiming some sticker space. I’ll have two or three laptops on the Dustball. These folks’ logos will be on all of them.

I have only one remaining space for a sponsorship decal. There’s also only one T-shirt left. Nudge, nudge—You might want to get in there quick. I passed the halfway mark on my funding drive today, with less than two weeks to go. If you have a minute, please take a look at my pitch on IndieGoGo. Even just $5, even just clicking “Like” gives me a boost.
